Community Screening: Isolated Incidents hosted by Creative Action

Join us for a community screening of ISOLATED INCIDENTS, the latest original film from Creative Action's Youth Cinema Collective.

The event will feature a screening of the film, engagement activities, and a community dialogue on gun violence featuring representatives from Texas Gun Sense and youth activists who have been speaking with lawmakers about gun control.

ISOLATED INCIDENTS is the latest film created by the Creative Action Youth Cinema Collective, a group of young people across Austin who come together to tell stories about their community and the world. Presented as a series of vignettes during a school lockdown, ISOLATED INCIDENTS examines the trauma inflicted on an entire generation of young people by lockdown culture. Told with honesty, wit, and endearing sadness for the collective anxiety young people now face, ISOLATED INCIDENTS is a portrait of the teens on the front lines of one of America's most pressing issues.

ISOLATED INCIDENTS is produced in collaboration with Texas Gun Sense.

About Youth Cinema Collective:
In conjunction with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Youth Cinema Collective provides a space for teens who are passionate about filmmaking and film’s ability to share stories that may otherwise go untold. YCC members delve into all areas of the filmmaking process as they see their projects from script and storyboard to shooting on location to a final screening at the Alamo Drafthouse. Filmmakers learn to be storytellers in their own communities, and through the art of cinema, learn to be ambassadors for social change.
