Startup Games At Denver Startup Week: A Look Back At Our Community Building Tournament For Charity

Startup Games loves to come to Denver every year for our big annual event, but this year we couldn’t wait to get back to the Mile High City. That’s because we Startup Games hosted one of the headline events at Denver Startup Week, a week-long celebration bringing members of the startup community together for community hosted events, workshops, and sessions.

On Wednesday September 26th the Startup Games team arrived at Denver Startup Week for a giant cornhole tournament unlike any other. The competition benefited 3 local nonprofit organizations - Women Who Startup, Open Labs and Spark Mindset - with proceeds from each team’s donation going to the three participating nonprofits.

The tournament brought together 10 teams playing back-to-back for the ultimate cornhole champion trophy using giant cornhole boards and bags courtesy of Cap’n Cornhole. Competitors hailed from local startups including DrillingInfo, Vincent Benjamin, Adcellerant and TalkBox competing to become the ultimate cornhole champion of Denver Startup Week. After a rousing single elimination competition, we awarded the gold trophy to the team from Vincent Benjamin.

Thank you to our partners Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Buffalo Trace for providing complimentary drinks for our teams and spectators, and to Rocky Mountain Bar League for refereeing the tournament.
